Terms & Conditions.
1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the website humantools.co.za ("the Website") and your participation in the Human Tools Experience programme ("the Programme"), operated by Human Tools (PTY) Ltd ("Human Tools", "we", "us").
By using this Website or booking a place on the Programme, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use this Website or book a place.
2. The Programme
The Human Tools Experience is a five-day in-person psychoeducation programme. It is not therapy, counselling, medical treatment, or clinical intervention. See our Disclaimer for further detail on what the Programme is and is not.
The Programme runs for five consecutive days at a venue confirmed in your booking communication. Daily sessions run for approximately nine hours. All meals during programme days are included.
3. Booking and Payment
3.1 By submitting a booking form and making payment, you are entering into a binding agreement with Human Tools for a place on the specified cohort.
3.2 For paid destination cohorts, the Programme fee is US$1,200 per person. Payment is due in full at the time of booking unless otherwise agreed in writing. Free South African cohorts are offered at no charge to South African residents.
3.3 Your place is confirmed only upon receipt of full payment (where applicable) and a written confirmation from Human Tools.
3.4 If you book via our website (an electronic transaction), you may have a 7-day cooling-off period under the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002, during which you may cancel for any reason and receive a full refund. See our Refund Policy for full details.
4. Cancellation and Refunds
Full details of our cancellation and refund terms are set out in our Refund & Cancellation Policy. Key points:
- Cancellation more than 30 days before your cohort: full refund less a R500 administration fee, or transfer to a future cohort at no additional cost
- Cancellation 15–30 days before: 50% refund, or transfer to a future cohort at no additional cost
- Cancellation less than 15 days before: no refund, but you may transfer to a future cohort (subject to availability) within 12 months
- Money-back guarantee: if you attend all five days, participate fully, and do not feel a measurable difference, request a full refund in writing within 48 hours of the final day
5. Your Responsibilities
5.1 You agree to attend all five days in full and participate in the exercises and group activities.
5.2 You agree to treat other participants, facilitators, and staff with respect.
5.3 You understand that the Programme involves group discussion of personal experiences and agree to maintain the confidentiality of what other participants share in the room.
5.4 You confirm that you are 18 years of age or older.
5.5 If you have an existing diagnosed psychiatric condition (e.g. psychosis, bipolar disorder, active suicidality), you must disclose this to us before attending. We may, at our sole discretion, recommend that you consult with your treating professional before participation.
